If you like birds of prey, check out the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s web cam on a Red-tailed Hawk nest on campus. The hatchlings emerged just this week, so there’s a lot of activity with the parent birds (“Big Red” and “Ezra”) feeding and caring for the young. Tune in to the live web cam for breaking news and recordings of notable events in the birds lives. The video above documents two day-old hawks being fed by their mother, and one unhatched egg. The third baby hawk emerged the next day. Over the next 6 weeks the birds will grow rapidly and fledge (leave the nest) when they are about 42-46 days old.
