Salmon Nutrient Cycle (Uploaded to YouTube by NanKnits on Dec 15, 2010)

While researching my last story about whale poop, I remembered reading research reports about the importance of salmon in the nutrient cycle of Pacific Northwest forests in the United States and Canada. I did a quick Google Search and came across a short video called Salmon Nutrient Cycle.

This simple video charmed me, because it shows how much information you can get across with a low-technology solution. It doesn’t use complex animations or videos, just cut out trees, fish, insects, etc. to get the information across.

If you try this with your students (young or old!), please let us know.
