Explore how biomimicry can move from inspiration to impact in climate, biodiversity, and materials. Drawing from Erin’s background in nature-based observation, biomimicry education, and regenerative design, she’ll share how biomimicry can change what we notice, what we value, and what we design.
This interactive session will invite you to deepen your role in helping people and organizations create solutions that are more resilient, regenerative, and life-supporting. Attendees will have the opportunity to think and exchange together about our impact. If you are working in any of these primary impact categories—climate, biodiversity, or materials— or curious about how you can be impactful within these fields, you are especially encouraged to attend.
Erin Rovalo is Head of Impact at the Biomimicry Institute, where she focuses on advancing an impact-driven approach to biomimicry across the organization’s programs, strengthening alignment and accelerating real-world application in critical, systems-level challenge areas such as climate resilience, regenerative materials, and the built environment. She holds a PhD in Design Practice from Loughborough University, has taught in Arizona State University’s MSc Biomimicry program since 2016, and is the author of iSites: Nature Journaling for Biomimicry.
